April 29, 1968 SGA Executive Committee meeting minutes

TOWSON STATE COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APRIL 29, 1968 The meeting was called to order by President Cullison at 4:15 p.m. in the SGA office. Both the old and the new executive committees were present. OFFICERS' REPORTS: 1. Mr. Hollywood announced that he has requisitioned publicity for elections. Also the possibility of publicity policy revisions is being considered. 2. Mr. Herbert announced that Choice '68 took place April 24. Figures will be coming in during the first week of May. Next week is class officers elections. 3. Miss Hatoff announced that Mr. Dawson called this afternoon and asked if SGA was interested in taking over the lost and found materials in the Barracks. Mr. Dawson asked that we give him a time and date to pick the materials up. Mr. Wacks announced that last year CCB took these lost and found articles and sponsored an auction for the benefit of the Ed. Moulton fund. 4. Mr. Cullison spoke on the proposed revision of college senate. Mr. Cullison said that the only required membership on the committees will be six faculty members. He further stated that students were not recognized enough. Mr. Cullison already spoke to Dr. Hawkins about this. Mr. Johnson is writing an article for Tower Light. The SGA executive committee is writing a letter to the faculty stating that we feel that this is inequitable because.... Miss Pryor said that a proposal to get three students on faculty committees was being pre- sented to Senate tomorrow. Mr. Wacks suggested that students be given seats on committees in proportion to their interest. 5. Mr. Cullison congratulated the newly elected executive committee. 6. Mr. Wacks announced that the faculty (Dr. Mruck) is interested in sponsoring scholarships next year. 7. Mr. Hollywood spoke about the proposal for SGA executive on-campus housing. Mr. Mahoney is going to speak to Miss Farlow about this. Mr. Wacks is going to speak to Mr. Sartori about pre-registration and to Mr. Dawson about parking stickers. 8. Miss Rohde announced that the report on fraternities wil be presented to Senate tomorrow. The committee unanimously supported this report. 9. a. Miss Berlett announced that May 10 is the date of the SGA exec. dinner. b. Special events met last Wednesday and SGA was given permission to have someone from their special interest group. Mike Rossman was first choice. c. Onehalf of the replies for social calendars have been returned. d. Social advisory committee has come up with suggestions for the social policy. These will be brough before Senate tomorrow. The committee was unan- imously in favor of the proposed revisions to the social policy.
