When viewing a document, select or tab into the image viewer and use the following controls to manipulate the image.


  • Move up: w or [up arrow]
  • Move down: s or [down arrow]
  • Move left: a or [left arrow]
  • Move right: d or [right arrow]
  • Return to centre: 0
  • Zoom in: = or [shift] + w or [shift] + [up arrow]
  • Zoom out: - or [shift] + s or [shift] + [down arrow]
  • Rotate clockwise: r
  • Rotate counterclockwise: R
  • Flip horizontally: f

An interdisciplinary, collaborative student-centered research project that connects alumni and the wider community to the history of the university.

Ideations of Potential

Shodekeh's Innovation Lab of Embodied Scholarship & Hip Hop Imagination

Baltimore-based musician Shodekeh Talifero documents his life's journey and artistic process in this first living archive of a professional beatboxer. This collection celebrates vocal percussion, breath art, Hip Hop, dance, and more.

 

Leon Bloomberg papers

A collection of letters from Jewish-American infantryman Leon Bloomberg to his wife, Esther Bloomberg. Written during the end of World War II, September 1944 to February 1946.

Asian Arts & Culture Center Art Collection

Established in 1971, this collection includes historic and contemporary art objects from China, Korea, Japan, India, Thailand, Tibet, and other Asian countries.

Women's Studies Collection

Towson's Women's Studies program was established in 1973. This collection documents the creation and evolution of Women's Studies at Towson through the years with course materials, publications, and commemorative documents from the program's 20th, 30th, and 50th anniversaries.

Baltimore Hebrew Institute

This collection includes rare books, artifacts, WWII-era Jewish Cultural Reconstruction books, Holocaust survivor testimonies and Yizkor (memorial) books from across Europe, as well as Baltimore Hebrew University records.

History of Education in Maryland

Collections about the history of K-12 education in Maryland including State Board of Education records, teacher oral histories, photographs, course catalogs, and more.

Athletics Collections

Materials documenting the history of Towson University athletics, including media guides and newsletters.

Performing Arts

Collections pertaining to performing arts, with emphasis on local performing arts and student, faculty, and alumni specializing in theatre, music, and dance.

Archival Research Projects

Undergraduate students conduct historic research about Maryland, Towson, and the institution using materials located in the University Archives. Learn more about their discoveries.

Website Collections

Web collections feature preserved, internet-based materials such as websites, YouTube videos, and social media. These collections focus on the recent history of the school, from 2017 to the present, and are available online from Archive-It.
