Brian, a freshman student who requested that his last name not be used, said he was approached by three males at about 11 p.m. He had been returning to his dorm room on the old side of campus after dropping off his girlfriend in Tower B. ""While I was walking back I was talking to one of my friends from home on the phone,"" said the out-of- state student. ""I wasn't really paying attention. I yelled 'what the f�?' into the phone. They jumped on me, threw me on the ground and my pants ripped open."" He said the suspects then reached into his pockets and took all of his personal possessions, which included a dinner receipt he said the police later found with fin-gerprints on it. ""One of them came up from behind me and the gun hit my head,"" the victim said. ""I saw the gun. It was a silver handgun."" After the suspects robbed Brian, they left and approached Robert, another freshman student who requested his last name not be used. Robert, a resident in Scarborough Hall, approached as the first robbery was taking place. ""I was walking to Tower B,"" he said. ""I saw two guys hovered over something. I thought it was a drug deal or something, so I paused for a second. I saw a kid getting up off the ground. They came up to me and put the gun to my head. Then they reached in my pockets and took everything."" Campus Activities Board concert chair Ben Ricciardi said CAB has been working over the past few days to book the artist for the ""welcome back"" concert. The concert will also feature Howie Day and local act Woodswork. ""It's been put together really quick,"" Ricciardi said. ""[Carlton]'s been getting a lot of MTV support and radio support."" Canton's A&M Records debut, ""Be Not Nobody,"" has received crit-ical acclaim, and the single ""A Thousand Miles"" has garnered seri-ous play on MTV's ""Total Request Live"" as well as radio stations nationwide. Her piano-driven brand of girl pop led Rolling Stone maga-zine to label her as one of the ""Top Ten Artists to Watch in 2002."" ""She's a good act to have. She's' got two singles out right now,"" Ricciardi said. ""I'm always looking for acts in the mainstream and the limelight. [That's what] appeals to students.""
