Towson University has heard the complaints, and Parking and Shuttle Services is developing a parking master plan to alleviate the stress on garages and lots as campus construction progresses and enrollment increases. But the Student Government Association didn't want to wait until the plan was completed to get student input. This fall, the organization surveyed nearly 2,000 students to gauge feelings about a variety of possible solutions. The survey focused on shuttle services and reallocation of parking spaces. Fifty five percent of respondents said they would ride a shuttle bus from their apartment as an alternative to paying for a parking permit. (One in four students said no and 20 percent were unsure.) """"With the majority (56%) of students surveyed living 10 miles or less from campus, a shuttle system could be a major factor in alleviating the parking problem,"""" a SGA report on the survey concluded.
