Jamaal Collier of the 4 The Students party will fill a senatorial position to complete the board. A sea of newly-elected senators and executives wearing bright yellow T-shirts and stickers exchanged hugs and high-fives immediately after results were announced in the Susquehanna Terrace shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday. """"That's a wrap,"""" sophomore marketing major and senator-elect James Coletta said. SGA treasurer Kevin Smoot admitted he was nervous before the announcement. """"I was pretty skeptical about whether we would win or lose,"""" he said. """"But we put in a lot of hard work and it paid off."""" Smoot was re-elected treasurer. He attributed his party's win to better campaigning and more interaction with student groups. """"I learned a lot from just being out there campaigning,"""" he said. """"A lot of people want to know what the SGA is doing. They asked me a lot of questions."""" 4 The Students presidential candidate Baba Olumiji did not attend the announcement. Vice presidential candidate for 4 The Students, James Baker, spoke on behalf of the party. """"[I would like to say] I'm satisfied, but I'm not of course,"""" he said. While 4 The Students had a """"valid and strong"""" platform, Baker said, they could not compete with campaigning done by the Tiger Pride party on Monday and Tuesday. Concise 'Henry V evaluates conflict Lauren Tilley The Towerlight A new,"""" chic"""" twist on Shakespeare will hit Towson's Studio Theatre this weekend. Theater students will present """"Henry V: The Warrior Project,"""" a contemporary version of the war scenes from Shakespeare's """"Henry V."""" Director Steven Satta decided to present """"Henry V,"""" specifically its war scenes, to the University particularly because it relates to America's situation in Iraq. """"[The play] deals with war and how a leader uses war to establish unity and secure political power, which is timely for our audience,"""" Satta, an assistant professor of voice, said. """"Second, the demands it makes on our student actors- heightened text, sword fighting, aerial work?makes it a valuable part of their training."""" """"The show is full of raw energy, sexy visual elements, beautiful language, exciting performances and thought- provoking arguments."""" Steven Satta director The script of the play is not the full text of """"Henry V."""" Performing the full play would have been a heavy load on the student actors, and there are some conventions of traditional Shakespeare that Satta did not wish to follow. """"It would be very difficult to mount a traditional production of 'Henry V.' It would require almost 200 hours of rehearsal and would have almost no roles for the many talented female theater students,"""" Satta said. """"Our approach needed to be manageable and equitable."""" Anna Lucero, a junior acting major, agrees that a shortened script with a concise plot is the way to present the play, because the deleted scenes detract from the theme and burden the audience, she said. """"'Henry V is a tremendous undertaking, especially with the full script. It's very long and there are several subplots,"""" Lucero said.
