I share your desire for a strong public school system, and have relayed my views concerning same to the people who will make the decisions - the County Council and County Executive Hayden. With respect to the state budget, it is indeed unfortunate that Governor Schaefer and the Legislative Leadership have forced the subdivisions to seek additional piggyback authority to balance unfair and disproportionate cuts in state aid. In light of this dilemma, I suspect County Executive Hayden will use a portion of his additional piggyback authority in his soon to be released budget message for fiscal year 1993.
