ie5 PLAN OF PROCEDURE FOR AMALGAMATION OF THE TWO LIBRARIES . I. Find out if ^iss Johnson is willing to cone to us. When may I write unofficially to ask if she would like to come out and talk to us and look over the ground preparatory to official action ? II* Find out if we are to take over equipment, chairs, tables, stacks, and files as well as books. Are they free to us or must they be paid for? III. Have Miss Johnson come out here and plan arrangement of floor space and furniture. See slip attached. IV. Remove all extraneous "irrelevant and incompetent material. 1. Miss Dowell’s and ^iss van bibber’s desks. 2. Commission library material. 5. Registrar t s records. 4. School materials and supplies. 5. The four large tables (providing that we take over the Training school’s tables.) V. I must go and list and count numbers of books to be moved out here. (May I not stipulate that old and worn out books, quite useless for circulation be discarded there, instead of being moved out and transport ed back piece meal to second hand dealers and waste paper men ?) V3J. Make Arrangements for trucking and transportation in August. VII. Get estimates right eway from library bureau for the putting up of a gallery above the metal stacks in the stack room or Annex. VIII. Have all large pieces of furniture placed and ready before school begins; books moved; and any extra xexk book cases needed ordered in tim to be set up by Sept. 10th. IX.
