November 5, 1991 SGA Senate meeting minutes

STATE UNIVERSITY Student Government Association Towson, Maryland 21204-7097 November 5, 1991 STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION MEETING The meeting was called to order at 4PM. The Minutes were approved. TREASURER GODDARD (301) 830-2711 * FAE hearings will be held in the Severn Lounge on 11/12 and 11/13. Senate hearings will be held 11/25 and 11/26. * The TSU Phonathon raised approximately $27,000.00. DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: Kevin Kintop * There has been a good response with the groups using the SGA space for their ads. * Computer status: order is still in the TSU Purchasing Dept. When it arrives, it will be located in Director Kintop's office. * Director Kintop has met the TSU Public Relations group. In conjunction with the SGA ad campaign, the project has also been assigned to several students in a Public Relations class. Suggestions should be forthcoming by next week. DIRECTOR OR ORGANIZATIONAL ADVANCEMENT: Gayle Kaufman. Report given by Assistant Scott Rasman * Senators will receive a list of their groups who still need revised Constitutions and Charter Renewals. * Affiliated sports groups need liability waivers for each participant. Director Kaufman is to meet with Michael Anselmi later this week to make arrangements for providing these documents. DIRECTOR OF STUDENT LIFE: Joe Conaway * Director Conaway is to meet with Mr. Giordani, Assistant to the Vice-President of Student Services in reference to the Residence Policy. PRESIDENT CAMERON * A rally protesting budget cuts/tuition increases will be held Monday, 11/18, 1PM at 'the beach'. It is strongly urged that students support this rally if they are against these issues. Media coverage will be at 'the beach'. An all-night vigil on 11/22 in Annapolis may be forthcoming; President Cameron is checking into the legality of the event. Personal testimonials are still needed in reference to these issues. CHAIR: Vice-President Gobel * TSU Phonathon awards: 1st prize - Alpha Phi, 2nd prize - Alpha Gamma Delta, 3rd prize - Phi Sigma Sigma. * Every Monday 9AM-11AM, Vice-President Gobel will be located at a table in front of the SGA showcase, 1st Flr. of the University Union. The purpose of of this activity is to receive SCA/University concerns of the students.
