The minutes of the last meeting were approved. PRESIDENT CAMERON:(report given by Vice-President Kraus) * Campus Watch beginning tonight from 5-11PM. * Campus Watch orientation meetings: 11/27, 11/28, 11/29, 4-5PM, Susquehanna II. TREASURER HARRIS: (report given by Vice-President Kraus) * Budget Hearings: December 5th and 6th in Severn Lounge * A Sense of Senate was taken in reference to date of next Senate meeting being next week. Unanimously in favor of a meeting December 4th. * Amount requested by budgeted groups: 41,241.08 Amount recommended by FAB: 19,769.39 DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC RELATIONS: Bill Cameron. No report. DIRECTOR OF ORGANIZATIONAL ADVANCEMENT: DEIRDRE MCELROY (report given by Vice-President Kraus) * Deirdre will provide constitutionally stated purpose of the groups by the Budget Hearings. CHAIR: VICE-PRESIDENT KRAUS * Tip O'Neill participating in Speaker Series 2/10/91. * SAB Special Events Committee needs a judge for Blizzard of Bucks: Friday, 11/30, 8:30PM. Volunteer should call X7284. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: * Hasson Baroudy, representative of International Education Committee, ad hoc committe for the University Senate: a proposal may be forthcoming in 1992 whereby all students must take 300 level of a foreign language or 1 semester comprised of 6 credits, overseas no matter what the student's major. The committee is debating the merits of this proposal; your input is welcomed. * Carolyn Stockell, member of FAE: inquired as to whether the budget hearings were open to the public. Vice-President Kraus stated that they are open to the public. * Roy Van Norman, representative of Tau Epsilon Phi: expressed interest in affiliation. CONSTITUTIONS INTRODUCED: SENATE BILLS INTRODUCED: 1990-91 #15 - to change the existing resolution on discrimination so that discrimination based on sexual preference/orientation is 'unlawful'. Referred to Government Operations. APPROPRIATIONS: Senator White * The recommended FAE amount for budgeted groups concurs with the Appropriations Committee recommendation.
