Dear Sir;-* I really do not feel that 1 should bother you in my efforts to secure the commission to make the plans for the New -State Normal School, but in following this matter up and enlisting Governor Srown and ray brother-in-law Robert 0, Rhodes in seeing Senator Lintliicum, whom 'r, Roles saw personally, it was reported to me that the plans had already been made. Now as 1 know that the ground has not been secured and consequent- the making of plans at this time would be premature , notwithstanding the efforts of any other Architect,! feel that I have an even chance if my friends with influence will fight for me. Will you fight for me? . If I am not asking too mucii of you, will you ask Senator Linthi- cum to show you the letter that Governor Brown wrote him in my be¬ half . If there should be any cost attached to the making of tentative plans submitted by an Architect prematurely, as is often done, which would have to be paid for,l would be glad to relieve your Committee of that expense in securing this commission. ith apologies for this intrusion, but wanting to leave nothing undone that will further my interests 1 am verv truly
