April 26, 1966 SGA Senate meeting minutes

TOWSON STATE COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION SENATE MINUTES 4/26/66 The meeting was called to order by President Neal Brooks at 3:35 in Lecture Hall of the Science Building. The treasurer reported a balance of $37,804.40. ANNOUNCEMENTS 1. Social Chairman=-Miss Winkler was not present 2. Treasurer-Mr. Vanderbosch announced a meeting of the Financial Committee on May 9 at 7:00. He also reminded the Senators to be sure that all bills are properly made out and turned in to the SGA Treasurer. Mr. Moser mentioned a Senate Bill which would return control of the Student Funds to the Student Governments, with an accounting and recording of the student activity fees. 3. Vice President-Mr. Wilson announced Class Elections which will take place next week. The list of candidates will be dittoed and available in the SGA office. 4. President-Mr. Brooks congratulated Sue Mattingly on her election as President of the Student MSTA. He reminded the Senate that new officers will take office at the last Senate meeting, May 10, and that organizations should have new officers elected by May 15. Special care should be given to the office of Senator as this is a job with many responsibilities, amond them attendance at Bi-weekly Senate meetings. OLD BUSINESS 1. The amendment to delete $7.50 from the Young Republicans' budget was defeated. Mr. McDonald moved to delete $30. It was seconded and passed. Mr. Vanderbosch moved to delete $3.00 for publicity. It was seconded and passed. A question of representation arose. Mr. Brooks ruled that a Senator had to be a member of the organization he is representing. Mr. Singman appealed the decision. It was seconded and defeated. Mr. Singman moved to amend the budget to $43. it was seconded and defeated. The main motion was defeated. 2. Mr. Chambly moved to allocate $249.50 for the College Dance Band Budget. It was seconded and passed. Mr. Peters announced reconsideration. [handwritten in margin: MF] NEW BUSINESS 1. Miss Walker moved that the Senate accept availability of teh NSA Life Insurance Policy to Towson State College Students. It was seconded and passed. 2. Mr. Peloqion moved to allocate $600 for Activity Cards. It was seconded and passed. [handwritten in margin: MF] 3. Miss Rohde moved to allocate $250 to the Class of 1968. it was seconded and defeated. Mr. Ratliff announced reconsideration. 4. Miss Miskelly moved reconsideration of the YAF Budget. It was seconded and defeated.
